The 2012 Racing Season: An Early Success?
When thinking about the 2012 season, I had two main goals. The first was to podium at masters nationals, but since that's not happening, I had to scale back my plans a bit and think of something a little more reasonable.
During the last month or so, it finally dawned on me. The greatest, yet still somewhat realistic, goal I could have this season would be to be mentioned on Rand's blog. It's still early in the season, and I hadn't really formulated a plan, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw this tweet last night:
@CPbike @wednesdaynight @thestaz hit refresh on my blog sometime Friday am, and it'll be the same result, but more publicized. Yay internet.

Could I have achieved my main goal, before the racing season even began? I set my alarm clock for "am" and then struggled to remember how to actually refresh a blog. Apparently I was a little too enthusiastic:
Eventually, am became pm, and finally the promised entry was posted. The aforementioned results were included, unfortunately with a little "creative" editing on Rand's part:
There it was, my moment of cycling glory, ruined by the red oval of death. In a way I'm kind of used to this sort of thing, as neither my name nor my team made it into NCCN's coverage of Turlock RR E3s last year. I suppose that's what happens when you lose a 3-up sprint.
